Ruth

Ruth is the beautiful story of a Moabite girl who marries a Hebrew, and eventually adopts the faith of her husband. When he dies, she returns to Bethlehem with her mother-in-law, and in time remarries a relative of her late husband. This marriage produces a son named Obed, who was the great-grandfather of King David and a direct ancestor of Jesus.

You will notice the teaching style of T. E. Lee consistently includes these components:

    • The verse text in Greek (from the Septuagint)
    • The verse text in English
    • A definition of words from the original language
    • An exegesis of the text
    • Supplementary quotes by revered theologians

This Study Guide was initially intended as a series of Sunday School lessons and is equally useful for sermon preparation or individual Bible study.
