Philippians

Philippi was a Roman colony named after the father of Alexander the Great. It was located on a strategic trade route and was the first congregation to be established on European soil (Zodhiates). Written while Paul was incarcerated in a Roman prison, this book shares the all-sufficiency of Christ in every situation. Over a dozen passages reflect Paul’s joy and confidence in Christ.

You will notice the teaching style of T. E. Lee consistently includes these components:

    • The verse text in Greek (from the Septuagint)
    • The verse text in English
    • A definition of words from the original language
    • An exegesis of the text
    • Supplementary quotes by revered theologians

This Study Guide was initially intended as a series of Sunday School lessons and is equally useful for sermon preparation or individual Bible study.
