Ephesians

This book was intended to be read by the church that was located in a city of great influence. Ephesus boasted both a 50,000-seat theater and the famed temple of Diana (Artemis) and was a center for commerce. This was a circular letter, intended to be read by other churches as well. The theme is “The church is the body of Christ,” and unity is a major point of emphasis.

You will notice the teaching style of T. E. Lee consistently includes these components:

    • The verse text in Greek (from the Septuagint)
    • The verse text in English
    • A definition of words from the original language
    • An exegesis of the text
    • Supplementary quotes by revered theologians

This Study Guide was initially intended as a series of Sunday School lessons and is equally useful for sermon preparation or individual Bible study.
